Amazon has released a new update for our beloved Kindle Fire, The have annoounced multiple bug fixes and improvements, with the addition of a full screen mode for the Silk browser.

Jcase from XDA developers has already updated his BurritoRoot2 to root this new version that has killed the superuser app on rooted devices.  The steps to reroot are here quoted from Xda-developers

adb push BurritoRoot2.bin /data/local/
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/BurritoRoot2.bin
adb shell /data/local/BurritoRoot2.bin
adb root
adb shell id
<if uid = 0 continue, if not start over>
adb remount
adb push su /system/xbin/su
adb shell chown 0.0 /system/xbin/su
adb shell chmod 06755 /system/xbin/su
adb remount
adb install Superuser.apk (skip this step if its already installed)

you will need to have ADB up and running by installing the driver correctly , you may use my root kindle fire post to get some tips on how to do so.

Amazon once again fails to save its baby app store from the jaws of  Google’s.

I got my Amazon Kindle Fire just a couple of days ago. Since then, I’ve played with it, rooted it, upgraded it, bricked it, and pissed off Amazon as I’m using where I shouldn’t the way I shouldn’t.

Kindle Fire is great device, the price is just right, 199$ is a great deal on a high end device.  Sure Kindle fire could have used  a little more connectivity and expandability. But still I would pick it over a 600$ ipad  or a nameless Chinese tablet with everything even toast slot!

I’m amazed by how Kindle fire is under documented, Amazon didn’t even bother publishing  recovery tools, troubleshooting guides, or even computer based updating. The internet communities like Xda are doing a great job with kindle fire, but still, you wont find detailed How-Tos to many issues you WILL face if you would dare to take your kindle fire for a spin outside the Amazon track.

My goal is to make the biggest community of Kindle Fire users on the internet.
